- Juvederm is an injectable gel filler used to reduce wrinkles and restore volume to the face.
- Juvederm injections provide immediately visible results that can last up to two years.
- Approved by the FDA since 2006, Juvederm is a safe and reliable injectable trusted by licensed practitioners and medical professionals.

Juvederm is one of the most widely used dermal fillers in North America, valued for its natural-looking results and low risk of side effects.
Juvederm at The Med Spa
Juvederm is an injectable hyaluronic acid (HA) based filler that smooths out wrinkles, fills in hollow cheeks or temples, volumizes lips, and diminishes sagging skin.
Juvederm does all this by injecting their patented HA formula directly into the skin. HA is a part of your body’s natural hydrating system; it binds to water and helps keep the skin’s moisture levels balanced. As we age, the body stops producing enough HA, which results in skin dryness, wrinkling, sagging, and a loss of that plump, youthful look.
With Juvederm, you can supplement your body’s natural HA levels and start to reverse these signs of aging.

Before and After Photos
Although there is some variation for each person, the effects of Juvederm should last for about one year. While you will be able to see immediate results, this filler can take up to a week to settle into the skin, at which point it will soften into a more natural look.
It is important to note that the clients featured here may have undergone separate, additional treatments which could contribute to their results.
Who Should Get Juvederm?
Juvederm is great for most adults who want a fast-acting anti-aging treatment. You should consider this treatment if you suffer from:
- A loss in volume or hollow areas in your face
- Fine lines
- Sagging skin
- Uneven facial contours
Juvederm can treat almost all problem areas on the face, including:
You can also get Juvederm to eliminate fine lines and laugh lines around the nose and mouth. The great thing about Juvederm is that it can be safely reabsorbed by the body, and will provide you with really natural-looking results.
How Much does Juvederm Cost?
The cost of your Juvederm treatment will depend on the amount of filler you need and the specific areas you wish to treat. For this reason, we provide customized costs on a case-to-case basis. For a cost estimate, contact The Med Spa at MIM to discuss the details of your treatment!
What to Expect at your Juvederm Appointment
Juvederm appointments usually don’t last long. They typically take 15 to 20 minutes, but can last up to 60 minutes for more extensive treatments.
First, your practitioner will mark the sites of injection and disinfect these areas thoroughly. These sites will differ depending on the specific goals discussed during your personal consultation. Next he or she will inject the gel-like Juvederm formulation just under the skin. Immediately after the injection, your practitioner will gently massage the gel into the target area to ensure a smooth surface and even distribution.
Thanks to the non-invasive nature of Juvederm injections, you can get back to your daily routine almost immediately! However, there are some things you should avoid in the few days following your treatment. Excessive heat (like saunas, steaming hot showers, or sun tanning), vigorous exercise, alcohol consumption, or face massages, for instance, could negatively affect your results.

Botox works best for lines and wrinkles caused by muscle movement and helps to prevent these wrinkles from ever appearing.
ZO Skincare Facials restore thinning skin, diminish signs of sun damage and melasma, reduce acne, and help treat general skin sensitivity.
LED Facials use state of the art light technology to promote skin healing, reduce wrinkles and treat acne.

Is Juvederm better than Botox?
When it comes to comparing Juvederm and Botox, neither is necessarily better or worse than the other: they use different methods suited to different needs.
Botox freezes the muscles in the face to prevent and treat wrinkles caused by repeated movements. For this reason, Botox is often used to treat lines and wrinkles in the forehead or between the eyebrows.
Juvederm will work better for improving your facial contouring and smoothing out lines and wrinkles caused by aging or loss of moisture. Juvederm will not impede muscle movement, giving it a more natural look than botox.
How long does Juvederm last?
There is some variation in how long the effects of Juvederm will last. On average, Juvederm is expected to last about a year without requiring any follow-up treatments, though some patients have seen results last for up to two years.
Are there any side-effects?
Some side effects of Juvederm injections include:
- Soreness at the site of injection
- Mild headaches (for injections in the temple)
- Redness or swelling at the site of injection
- Skin rash
Many of these side-effects can be avoided with proper hygienic practices and quality care. The ones that do emerge typically subside within about two weeks.
Do Juvederm injections hurt?
Juvederm injections should not hurt, but like any injection, they may cause discomfort for some people. Patients often report a mild pinching feeling at the injection site.
Who should avoid Juvederm?
While Juvederm is safe for most people, there are some factors that could affect your candidacy. Juvederm may not be ideal for you if:
- You are pregnant or breastfeeding
- You are currently taking anti-inflammatory medication
- You are currently taking blood-thinners
Consult your doctor if you have a medical condition or are undergoing medical treatments that you believe may interact with Juvederm treatments.
